When you connect to a web3 decentralized application, or dapp, the GameStop Browser Extension Wallet will prompt you to authorize that application with a connection request.
IMPORTANT: A legitimate web3 dapp will NEVER prompt you to input your Secret Phrase into the website OR into your GameStop Wallet. If you are ever asked for your Secret Phrase at any time while browsing the web, report that site or user profile using our fraud report form.
An example connection request, from nft.gamestop.com.
Take the above connection request for example. Note what this connection requests allows, under the heading "Allow this site to:"
- View your address
- View your account balance
- View your activity
- And suggest transactions to approve
After approving the request, the dapp will have authorization to perform the actions you approved, and the dapp is "connected" to your GameStop Wallet - which means your GameStop Wallet will pop up to confirm further transactions in the dapp.
Your GameStop Wallet will maintain a list of all the dapps you have connected to. In order to disconnect a dapp, follow this guide: How can I disconnect a dapp from my GameStop Wallet?
Keep in mind, disconnecting an app is not the same as revoking its allowances. If you have granted it allowances, the dapp will stay authorized to perform those actions until you revoke the allowances - which means a dapp could potentially continue to spend your coins or tokens, even if you have disconnected your wallet.
